The Monmouth County Scoliosis Prevention Program
Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine. At Shorehands Family Chiropractic we have formulated a new program to evaluate all children between the ages of 2-12 for pre-scoliosis.
We are joining forces with local school systems to educate the public on the devestating effects scoliosis can have on a child. The easiest way to prevent this issue is to have their spines evaluated at an early age for abnormal curvatures.
The foundation for normal spine posture is set early in life, abnormal alignment of a baby's spine will set the stage for eventual distortions, causing abnormalities to occur in the very foundation that is needed for health.
Part of this amazing program will be the posture evaluation on your child. The posture is the window to the spine, and viewing a child's posture by a trained eye can detect even the tiniest misalignment.
The Adams Forward Bend Test that is utilized by most School nurses and other Doctors is the usual way a child is diagnosed with an abnormal curvature of the spine. This test has the ability to look to rib cage, and see a severe abnormality, and is generally done on the older population of students.
Our goal in our office is to educate the public that waiting until there is a severe scoliotic curve is waiting too long. Prevention is key.
Contact our office today to schedule your school for their evaluation. Private evaluations will be done for a limited time only in our office. Dr. Dennis Brown is volunteering his time and his expertise to our community to make a difference.
